read a thread about people don't know about the brand of their pianos...
to some extent, i have the same feel.
my current upright brand is Weinstein & Sons.
I got no idea with what brand is it
the serial starts with P9****-P.
i got no idea which year is it made or whatsoever about it.
i TRIED to research on it on the web..
all i get is the brand is a fabric making company...
the name of the fabric making company has a J infront of the name though, J WEINSTEIN & SONS
ok...
i know nothing about it...
what i know it's an old piano, with a quite heavy touch (which is quite near to grand touch i suppose), a very limited range of dynamics (or maybe it's placed at the corner with walls in the behind and left side of the piano).
anyway, despite my bad impression on this piano, i do enjoy playing it. and i had my grade 8 pieces practised on it and passed!

anyway, i just want to know more about the brand of my piano, hope any experts could help me with this

I have a Weinstein and Sons piano...one with a hinge on the very top piece. No one seems to want it. How do you know if it is worth restoring or not? We stripped it down and there are several different kinds of wood in it, but I think it would need a lot of work to restore.
