I saw in a thread in the digital forum that apple* was shopping for a portable keyboard that she can bring with her to chemotherapy sessions, which she is starting soon.

apple* is such an important presence on PW, and I knew that others would be as concerned as I was to hear of the health challenge she is facing. So I PM'ed her and asked her permission to start a thread where we could all send her our love and concern. She replied that she could use some positive energy, so here I go!

apple*, please know that you have the good wishes of the literally hundreds (thousands?) of people who visit this forum. 2hearts

Dear apple*,

I've enjoyed the warm, self-deprecating humor evident in many of your posts during my nearly four years of mostly lurking here. You face a great challenge, but I believe the strength of spirit that pervades your words to the forum will carry you through. Get the most out of that keyboard during your chemo sessions, and come back as soon as you feel able. We'll all be wishing you the very best of luck every day until then.
apple we are sending you all of our love.
You are always in our prayers Mary.

But ever more so now.

Hope to see you soon!
Our prayers are with you and your family, as you go through your treatment.

Wishing you a full recovery.

apple...My prayers are with you! I know what a trying time this is for you as I was diagnosed w/Pancreatic Cancer in November. I had the "Whipple" surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital and am currently undergoing Chemo-Therapy...it has not been nearly as bad as I had anticipated.

It is a very scary thing to experience, but I can tell you that Chemo-Therapy has been refined very much over the years and I wish you God's grace to stay strong!

Taking the keyboard with you is a great idea to pass the time.

Good luck and all the best.

You have given so much pleasure to so many on PW. Your posts have always been interesting, sometimes funny or gentle - and I am sure healing to many. You have great gifts you share with others.

The measure you give is the measure you will receive....

Holding you - Quaker fashion - very much 'in the Light' as well as in my prayers.

Fondest Blessings,

Music is such a blessing. There are libraries full of how music heals. The number of journals in this area are enormous. And I mean mainstream ones. I know that reading is probably the last thing on your mind now - but even you being reminded of this I pray sends just that little extra bit of speedy healing to you.

Dear Apple, I just joined the forum, so we haven't "met," but my yoga teacher is always talking about how positive support from the universe can truly make a difference in our lives. So I am sending my very best wishes your way. I think there is also a lot of potential for you to help others without even knowing it. Namaste.

Apple, cancer can be very scary. Love, prayer, music, laughter, family and friends all help in healing. May you feel the love from all of us.

Cancer is beatable; my husband has been cancer free for 8 years. The keyboard is a great idea, so is a laptop.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi apple*,

I'm so sorry to hear of your illness. It's always a joy to chat with you about music and pianos, and I look forward to that continuing for a good long time to come! I wish you the best for a full and speedy recovery. You will be in my thoughts. Everyone here at PianoWorld is pulling for you to get well. May our combined strength help you through your coming days of treatment all the way to your return to good health.
well, the good news is that the Corelli Variations are coming right along..

Slower than i thought tho.. They are much harder than many things I've worked on.
I pray that God will richly bless you in so many ways. I pray that he will send healing for your body and for your emotions. I pray that your sprit will grow and your friendships and family love will grow as you cope with your illness. And I pray that God will send the very best medicial caretakers your way. heart

(For the last 5 years I have been dealing with a very tough type of blood cancer. For the last 3 years I have been in remission. God has been so good every step of the way for me.) (Husband is writing.)

Frank's server probably doesn't have enough room to hold the wishes of all of us who have benefited from your posts over the years (and, in my case, your hospitality), but I'll add my hopes for a speedy and complete recovery.

Hi apple*

Stick with those Corelli Variations! You can do them, and it will be a great diversion too!
I've just spotted this thread - poor apple*. I am so very sorry that you have to go through this. I am sure Bach will help you to win through.

With love xx

Dear Apple,
Although I am new to this site, the Word of Gos tells us to pray for one another! In doing so, I will place your name on our churches prayer list and also ask the Holy Spirit to fortify your strenght and also your faith! Keep playing while you are receiving your chemo, and remember the song, No One Cared For Me Like Jesus!

My words exactly!

We all love you, Apple* !
i think i'm going to make a movie... a recording without a hat. seems the thing to do... for the people who are so embarrassed by baldness and for all the kids who have to suffer thru cancer.

over the last month, i've seen about 100 bald people (from chemo) and they walk around as if they have some disease and they hide their heads.. it's kind sad. i've been venturing into public wearing a scarf laterally .. kind of like heck's angels' dude. After the initial shock of seeing a bald head, people are VERY cool.. Bald guys give my high fives or smile in appreciation.

stay tuned

apple you look positively beautiful!

I can't wait to finally meet you in August.
Apple, You are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope you make a speedy and full recovery. I honestly believe musicians have an advantage at times like this so keep up the playing. Please do some recordings to upload so I/we can empathise with your experiences through your music.
Your sparkling personality and love of music will bring you through this. I have no doubts! My best wishes are with you!
apple-- great picture! very stylin'. You go girl!

sending good musical vibes and thoughts your way,

Apple, that is Wa-a-a-a-ay cool! What pizazz! Nice going -

Beautiful noggin! Hang tough sister!
I would like to say my head was shaved in support, but it was a Barber error. I said "number Two", somehow it was interpretted differently. Then they tried to fix it by cutting more. Hence, baldness. I need to polish up on my Vietnamese, if I am to go back there. wink I thought my wife would have a cow, but she kind of liked it. Who would've thunk?

Hang in there! thumb
Apple! I am praying for you! Please tell me you are bringing a laptop along with your keyboard. What a beautiful picture!
Apple, you have the face shape and great eyes/eyebrows where bald looks good. thumb
finally, finally, finally.. the fight for now is over. i had my last chemo a couple days ago and will do the maintenance drug thing.

after a pretty major surgery, 2 sets of chemo, radiation (and the brain scare) it's on to life as normal. it's been a roller coaster ride fur sure.

must have been all your prayers, wishes and good thoughts.
It's so good to hear that life is getting back to normal for you, Apple -- you've really been through the ringer. Enjoy your summer!
Play on, Apple! Positive thoughts are headed your way. smile
greetings from far, far away [romania].
Excellent news. smile
You are the Apple of our eye to many on this board. We are so blessed by your special spirit and kindness.

I know this has been a very hard experience for you and your family. I also think it has made you a stronger person.

This is great news and may God continue to bless you and your family.
That’s wonderful news, Apple!

I wish the treatment for my wife’s brain tumor had tuned out as well.

May God continue to richly bless you and your family!

This is really great news! So happy for you!
That's great news, Apple. Stay positive and enjoy growing your hair.

Last year this time, I was driving my mother to Savannah 5 days a week for Chemo. There was no sign of cancer in her CT scan 3 months ago. We go to Savannah to see doctors tomorrow. She gets her hair cut Saturday. Today is her 84th birthday. You're going to be around for much longer.

aw Rickster.. jeez frown
Thanks, Apple.

You’re a beautiful person with or without hair grin. Enjoy your piano and organ for many years to come!

Take care.

That is wonderful news, Apple. I continue to wish you the best and will keep you in my prayers.
Hey, baby.. you know we've all been pulling for you. I'm so glad the treatments are done.

Dear lady, this is good news!

My prayers are with you.

Great news, Apple. Thanks for letting us know, and enjoy that new organ!

Phenomenal news Apple!

thumb yippie Glad to hear... keep the faith..

God Bless
Very Happy to hear the good news!!

You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Congratulations, apple*! This is a major rite of passage indeed. I have a good friend who (thus far successfully) completed chemo for lymphoma six years ago. Even now he remembers the *exact* date of his last treatment.

Fantastic!! I hope you celebrate and savor the moment with music and good friends. Way to go!!

I have only just caught up to this, and my heartfelt best wishes go out to you apple! The long haul is over and now you can begin to think about getting back into the routine of things. I went through the whole chemo rad thing in 2007 and so far is clear. It's quite neat the cameraderie of seeing the same people every day going through the same thing, you realize ALOT of people are dealing with various conditions.

You look great! I remember seeing a very tall PROUD woman completely bald, just such a confidence in her posture - that was beautiful to see.
I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma a few years back. They excised the cancer from my back and I've been free of it for a few years now. I didn't go through chemo, but I know the kind of shock a cancer diagnosis can bring.

It definitely changes your life. But for some reason, it's always for the better. It's all about balance. You lose one thing, you gain another. That seems to be lifes strange design.

Glad to know you're feeling better!
Sheesh...just saw this thread...

Heartfelt wishes and congratulations for pulling through this one.

I know you will!!

I am happy that your surgery & treatments are behind you. That picture of you is as lovely as your posts. I'll continue to remember you in my thoughts and prayers.
My husband had cancer and had to be hospitalized for one week every 3rd week for chemo infusions. He was quite an attraction to the nurses who couln't believe he was actually doing an aerobic slide as he was hooked up to the IV. It's what kept him going. Let your music fill your heart and soul with strength and peace of mind.

I'll be pulling for you. My husband has been in remission for almost three years now. Every day is a gift. Stay Strong....
Best wishes & prayers to you ! thumb
I too am so very pleased with your news nd prayerful for your complete recovery. Six years ago i found out i had a bad blood cancer and they put me through a year of hard chemo. Now I'm living a normal life and planning for a lot more.

The only advise I want to offer is that you work with a physical therapist to get your strength back. I have been having 5 years of back and neck pains, living with it. Recently I went to a physical therapist who put me on a strengthening program and almost all of my pain is now gone. I never understood how intertwined strength, health, pain, and such are. And chemo sure takes so much out of you, so you need to put the strength and such back in which therapy can do easily.

May God continue to give you the desires of your heart.

I just read about your health.......

I hope God will continue to bless you.

After all.........I understand you had a bad time. Wish you everything good.

Best regards,
Johan B

Glad to read things are on the up-swing. Good luck and God bless you.
