I've been on a few bowling teams in the past. The best team name any of my teams used (IMO) was "spare parts."

Tough Luv

While one who sings with his tongue on fire
Gargles in the rat race choir
Bent out of shape from society's pliers
Cares not to come up any higher
But rather get you down in the hole

I'm a huge tennis fan, and I heard Chris Evert recently talking about a tournament she won many years ago. It was sponsored by Leggs pantyhouse (in the 70s), and it was called the "Leggs Open".

Chris would boast that she was the first player to win the Leggs Open.

I was born the year Glenn Gould stop playing concerts. Coincidence?

OK, this name is not an original idea- but it deserves some thought. It was thought up by some local young schoolgirls to name their girl's soccer team. Everyone was aghast at their idea and insited they come up with something more butch and intimidating. I say this is a great name and ought not be silenced. OWN IT!

"The Fabulous Tinkerbells"

OK, we have our team name.

We are "Smack Attack."

My sister's tennis team in Colorado also needed a name, and they settled on "Mile High Goodbye."

Thanks, everyone!

Cindy -- hoping no one notices that "smack" also means heroine

That reminds me..............A few years ago my Dad's girlfriend put together an all female music night at a local pub. She asked me what we should call it and my suggestion was the very same as yours David. It went down badly however (my suggestion that is) and ended up being called Wimmin. Oh God, isn't that awful? No sense of humour or what? frown

How now, brown cow.
