Thursday, my wife and I will be travelling to China for two weeks so you won't be hearing from me from then until after Oct. 8. I am sure you all could use a break from me. wink

I went for dim sum to a real chinese restaurant with real chinese friends. The first thing brought to our table was a plate of pale, glistening chicken claws. The smiling faces of my friends (with evil glee lurking behind their happy eyes) gazed at me with anticipation as they offered me the last AND BIGGEST claw. eek I took it, and started gagging inside.... I was starting to lurch so I had to leave the table much to their shared delight.... they were actually rubbing their hands together with excitement.

I'll miss you. Have a wonderful time.

I'll be going to Shanghai, probably Hangzhou and Wuxi as well and some other places that I do not know much about as yet.

Thanks everyone. I will miss you all but will think of you as I enjoy the wonderful food, sights, etc. Oh, and that guy in the picture. I'm not him anymore. I left him behind some fifteen years ago and have never looked back. It's a good thing too because he was headed for a bad end.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip. I'll look forward to a revival of the "Interesting Travel Stories" thread when you return.

Surely there will be an internet cafe somewhere along your way from which you can send us a brief postcard. Or maybe your definition of vacation is similar to mine: "stay the heck away from e-mail, the web, phones, and anything else that reminds me of the office."

Call lb, and see if he can arrange a piano factory tour for you - that would be neat...

Godspeed, JBryan.

JB

You should delay your trip 2 weeks and attend the Shanghai Music Fair, October 21-23.

My wife is visiting friends in Colorodo that week, and I might go.

If you have a really BIG expandable suitcase, maybe you can get a deal on a Nordiska and bring it home.

Have a great trip!
