Anyone going to be in or around Philly on Saturday? Basilios Strmec (Boesendorfer USA) is going to be in town for a presentation. Sounds like there will also be some performers.

Here's a link to Rich's post. Anyone want to meet me there?

I won't be able to attend. Basilios always makes a great presentation filled with information, history, and a little humor. If you are able to attend, it will be worth your time. This will not be a piano sales enticement, only a presentation for your enjoyment.

This should be a great way to spend a rainy Saturday in Philly.

That really was fun!.

Basilios did a great job as did all the artists. curry was correct, it was not a sales presentation at all. Bosendorfer certainly builds a first class piano. Each of the five artist's different style brought out something very special in the same piano. I would have sat there all afternoon if they had kept playing.

Many thanks to everyone at Cunningham!.

Regards,
Steve

Did Linda make it?

How many pianos did Rich have to put in the back corner to fill the space where that oversized Imperial used to be?

I'd would have attended it if Kansas was closer to the East Coast. Does this guy fellow do Denver? If he's ever at KB's, I might make the trip.

By any chance were they using my piano? Rich is holding it for me for a few months, I just don't know if they would have used it during the presentation. It's the 214CS that was up on the second floor (at least that's where it was when I was there a few weeks ago).

Yes saxguy, we used your piano. It performed beautifully.

In fact, Jesus Garcia (2003 winner of Placido Domingo's international vocal competition and Rudolpho in La Boheme on Broadway) gave it high compliments, as did Brian Tran (2nd place in last week's World Piano Competition in Cincinnati).

Unfortunately, richard and Linda in PA still both prefer richard's 225, but that is a great piano too. wink

Thanks to richard, Linda in Pa, and Stevester who joined us. It was a fun day.

It was a pleasant little event for us piano lovers. Basilios was interesting, and we heard some awesome piano playing. I'm happy to report that the future - for performers - is very bright. The performers ranged down to an 11-y-o.

And I finally agreed to let Linda in PA have my piano, the Boesie 225 that I bought a few milliseconds before she walked into the store with a hot check in her hand. She just has to wait 140 years before I bequeath it to her. (That's what Basilios told us was the lifetime of one of these beauties).
Hey, I'm generous, but everyone has limits!

Actually, Richard, I should only need to wait another 138.5 years or so (I'm claiming credit for time already served!).

I am glad to have finally met Richard and Steve - and Basilios was charming. In addition to the performers that Rich mentioned, Richard treated me to some pretty nice improv! All of the performers were an inspiration for me to keep practicing.

RKVS1: Help me understand. You'll travel to Denver to see KB, but not to Philly to see me? Oh, my broken heart!!!

Rich: Thanks for hosting this event. I also enjoyed watching the DVD - it was great!

Rich, what DVD? Is it something I'd be able to take a look at?

PS - Waiting for my piano is killing me frown

saxguy,

Of course - but it is a yet to be released Bosie DVD that Basilios had with him. When I get an extra copy, you will get one.
