I am still fighting the jet-lag. It is a whole lot easier to deal with than the first time I went to China, however, my wife is having some difficulty dealing with it. We took a long nap together from about 1:00 PM (2:00 AM Shanghai) today unytil I got up at 5:30 PM and forced her to get up at about 6:00 PM. She got up and remarked about how well I play the piano in the morning and proceeded to make coffee which I put down to her trying to reestablish a routine. She then came to me while I was playing the piano and expressed here concern that it was getting dark at 7:30 AM. I then had to explain to her that, despite what her biological clock was telling her, it was not really 8:30 AM (as it was in Shanghai) but 7:30 PM in Oklahoma City and the sungoing down was a natural occurance.

We left OKC in late morning on Sept. 23 and proceeded via Denver and Frisco to Shanghai. When we arrived at Shanghai we were greeted by my wife's sister and we proceeded to the passenger pickup where we were greeted by a Shanghai police car which was our transport to the baoshan section where my wife's niece (Yin Qiu) and her husband (Di Tian) had an appartment.

I'm sorry, I cannot tell you all of what transpired later in a complete story.

At least not right now.

I will be filling in more blanks as time goes on. I took over 200 photographs myself and have a number of photographs and videos that my relatives took. I will be adding to this thread as time goes on and as interest dictates. I can tell you one thing: I have a long standing relationship with the Chinese people and every time I come in contact with them I become more convinced that they are destined to rule the world.

As to us? Pathetic.

I had the same impression after working there. Look forward to hearing about your trip.

Welcome back!

Please, tell all! China fascinates me, but I doubt I will ever get a chance to visit there.

Pictures too, please!

JB welcome back. The jet lag fo me anyways, is always worse when return home. From experience I have found that lot's of water and very light meals for the first two or three days help you to overcome the jet lag. Stay away from caffeine, sugar and booze. Also, no daytime naps. Go for walks.

Welcome back, JB. I think your assessment of the Chinese is correct - the sleeping giant. When I first started posted in CR, I made a similar assertion and nearly got laughed off the board. Anyhoo, looking forward to pics and stories.

PS My daughter's best friend is living in China, and we are constantly getting begged to go - maybe you'll convince it's time.
