Hey all- I found this little tool in a collection of old tools I bought. It looks like a string coiler like we use in restringing a piano, only much smaller. It measures 3" from handle to tip, both side-to-side and top-to-bottom. The tip has a 5/32" square hole.

So, what is it?

Thanks.

That's about the right size for harpsichord or zither tuning pins, such as autoharps. Nice little tool!

It looks to me like it could be the winding lever for an antique music box or clock.

Here are 2 pictures, the smaller gold crank is the winding crank to a modern pendulum wall clock, the larger older crank is the winding lever to an antique 1907 Regina Music Box. Your tool may be some kind of tuning lever though, because of the angle.
