I learnt this piece completely last year, and I dropped it for six months and now I have to learn it again as my audition and final exam piece. Last year I noticed I messed up the same spots many times, and now I found out that was because of my fingerings. I figured out most of the myself, but here are 2 spots I'm still not sure of (they're important and dangerous passages, too).

(bar30) this arpeggio, would you play the right hand with 1 2 35 or 1 2 45? My edition says 45, but I played it with 35, yet that caused a lot of unevenness, but 45 feels like it would make me less fast, it feels "heavier".

(bar38) Ok this one's a bit more complicated to explain, but if you've played it you should be able to understand hehe. The right hand I play (starting from the descending part) 54321 321 4321 432 123 repeat. This goes fine, but once I added the left hand I had more trouble playing them together, mostly because the fingerings didn't "match". My old fingerings where just a chromatic scale using 123 in the left hand. This worked ok, I could play it up to a certain speed, but failed at each end of the descending run(until where you ascend again to where you descend).
My new fingerings for the left hand are (descending) 1234 123 12 123 12 432 repeat. I use 12, so that would synch with the putting the fourth of my right hand over. (4RH with 2LH match) Would this fingering be better in actual speed?

Ok if you actually read all this, thanks, if you can help, thanks even more in advance wink .

I use 45 in the first bit, which feels okay to me and I shan't change it now.

In the second part I use the same right hand as you except I end with 321 234 (starting with the F#) and in the left hand I just use the standard 1313132 etc of a chromatic scale. Again this just feels right for me, but asynchronous finger work doesn't bother me.

I'm the same. In Bar 30 - Use the 1 2 45, You might find it is easier to to that fingering when you are coming down the arpeggiated passages.

As for Bar 38, I would use the 54321 321 4321 432 123 fingering, even though you might find adding the Left Hand a little weird as they are not in 'synch' with each other. You just have to work on it.

Thanks to both of you!

I'm just going to keep the new fingerings I posted. I didn't synch last time I learned it, which made my fingerings fail everytime I went a bit too fast. Maybe I CAN do it now, but I find it too risky smile .
