How about the GL10 action with interconnected pedals which lighten the keys when it's pressed . . . Millenium3 I think it's called. Yeah, I'd exchange my P515 for that . . . . Wait, you mean this?

That's the first I've ever read about the NV10s...I'm sold. I knew of its existence, but never read the details. That should be as near to perfection (if duplicating the acoustic experience is considered perfection) as it gets.

[quote=peterws] Wait, you mean this? As you know the NV10 action is like the GL30. So the shorter GL10 action would maybe be more practical for this application.

Never knew it did that. Yes. I'd swap my nearly new, almost unused, much loved and technically slightly inferior P515 for that ugly NV10 thing, which let's face it, might be hard to shift in today's cash strapped climate. I would only have to saw 9" off the back to make it fit nice, and look nice! And a decent coat o' stain'd make it look great!

As a simple minded person I thought my informations re MP 12 and VPC2 ( which I received from a high ranking insider) would be helpful for some.
Unfortunately I was wrong in such an assumption.
Chordo24 You didn't say it's from a high ranking insider. And who said it wasn't useful? It's useful if it's from a high ranking insider but it looked more like an opinion or gossip.

Chordo24 Haven't you figured out that this place is a [censored] show yet? The post in question is this: VPC2 will (no if there) be released ....... many , many years from now!
MP 12 wil NOT be released in 2021 or 2022, but later! With longer keys, thus deeper case! And we should have somehow deduced it’s coming from a “high-ranking insider” and start praising Chordo24 if not wanting to be a [censored] show 🙄 That’s an interesting logical reasoning, I must admit.

When will a new VPC model be released? Does anyone lose sleep over this? I'm more interested in knowing when we'll finally get the flying cars that the Jetsons foretold sixty years ago!

If you are not at all interested in this question, then why do you keep posting on this thread? I mean feel free not to post on this thread and instead start a new thread on flying cars.

This is beginning to sound like the news media. Surely Piano World members can do better than that!

Just the usual incompleteness in communication -- some critical tiny detail missing.

Do we have to ‘do better than that’?
Yes, in a ‘perfect’ world there would be no BS [censored] show, and only big, momentous strokes would get us to the finish line, but you see, we need to navigate trough the BS-show in order to slowly, step-by-step arrive at something substantial.
It didn’t happen in one big stroke, Mona Lisa, but rather in small, incremental steps/strokes; and I can assure you, Leonardo DiCaprio had to smell a lot of BS on his way to this momentous masterpiece!
Take Bezos, for example, he’s being criticized for putting up a ‘show’ that’ll last only a few minutes so that he can feel like a kid again, and although there’s some truth to that, it is also true that this is one small step for man and a giant leap for mankind.
This ‘race to space’ will eventually lead to further and more affordable space exploration and exploitation; so yes, instead of further polluting our world drilling and mining for precious metals, etc. we will soon be able to mine ‘asteroids’ and other ‘space rocks’, and in the process, give our planet a long-earned break.
There’s also the moon and all its unexplored and virgin gifts waiting to be tapped. So yes, this little freak show that Bezos, Branson, and Musk are putting on is essential to literally get us there and back!
P.S.
Yes, I know it was Leonardo da Vinci (I googled it), but then again, it wouldn’t be a ‘show’ if I didn’t poke a little fun at him, at you, and at us!

Easiest and best for Kawai.
The . . . . .VP-K.
A K200 Shell, VST connections and keyboard.only. Pedal function as for an acoustic. No frame, no strings. A more portable version could be devised whilst maintaining essential elements, it might be hoped. Retail around £2 - £2.5k in polished finish without speakers/amplifier.
Would you pay?

Adding to this thread rather late because it came up in a search for "VPC-2"
Basically, the VPC-1 is a wonderful action, until you compare it to an MP11SE immediately afterward. I have done this on several occasions, and to me the VPC-1 feels stiffer and is more difficult to play up by the fallboard. Personally, I would love the 11MPSE action in a "VPC-2," but if Kawai never makes one then I would pay the extra for the MP11SE.
The most discerning listeners can hear about a 10ms timing difference.
PolyAT does not "choke" the MIDI stream in modern equipment- it did back when the receiving device was a mid-80's vintage synth (like the MemoryMoog) but I use several polyAT controllers in my studio and there are no issues.

I own a VPC1, and I've played an MP11SE on several occasions while out at Sweetwater. I prefer the overall feel of the VPC1 to that of the MP11SE. The fact that it costs less and (to my mind) looks nicer is just an added bonus...
