What is the chord in bar 16 (b flat, g sharp)?

I think it goes from the f marking

G (IV)
D7
G (IV)
? (What's happening here with B flat and g sharp?)
A (V)

Is it one of the augmented 6 chords ?

Thanks

It's the same chord as the piece I'm playing with B flat and G sharp

Bar 122 - my teacher said it was Italian 6th. I'll keep the post of anyone is interested but I don't need the help to name the chord as it's the same thing.

Maybe if anyone knows of a good resource that teaches chords with examples in the music that can help with this? Is there an app you can download for this or something online ?

Maybe it's not the same as the key not the same - my piece is is in d minor and the other one is d major?

In the second example, indeed that's an "Italian" augmented 6th.

But in the first one, it's "German."
The difference is that the first one includes Bb in addition to those other notes.

BTW, the kind of augmented 6th doesn't depend on what key it's in. It's only about what notes are in it.

Bar 16th is an arpeggiation of the german sixth, but practically you never have the full german sixth chord together. For all practical purposes, you hear an Italian sixth, a diminished 7th and a diminished 5th on the leading note G sharp and again an italian augmented sixth. The bar being constructed by descending the bass by a semi tone from bar 15, there isnt too many options for beat 2, only the F natural of the german sixth can work here (in a piece of that period; there would be plenty of other options for pieces of later periods).

I think you mean it includes an F in addition to the Bb-D-G#?
