I'm looking at an old piano that has been played lightly for 20 years and tuned every couple of years. I love old pianos but don't want to spend too much extra on repairs. It has a nice sound and the keys and outside are in good condition. I'd love input from anyone who can tell me how it looks. A couple keys are higher, and the hammers are out of alignment. It's missing some felt, and what's there is worn. I don't know if the pins have been manipulated or are still tight. Here is a link to view photos as I don't see a way to add them. I hope posting a link is allowed. Thanks!

Hi Sharigi! I see you are new... WELCOME to PW! (PW = piano world)

Post this in the main “piano forum” page, it’s a common mistake for new members. (IT’S OKAY!)

I’ll leave the condition of the piano for others...

Posting photos on PW is confusing IMO. I can try to help if you would like.
Posting a link is fine by the way.

I personally would not buy it because there may be a lot of cost for repairs, and problems, sorry if this is discouraging.

The asking price would be helpful too. (If you are comfortable with sharing)

Hope the journey goes well.

Thank you for the welcome! The piano is free, but of course I need to pay for moving, tuning, and repairs. My heart fellin love with this piano so hoping it won't cost an arm and a leg to do some repairs. It's just for personal casual use.

The best way to determine the condition and the estimated repair costs are through a tech inspection, completed by a tech you hire. You can search for one by zip code at PTG.org.

Thank you. I think that's the best thing to do is hire a technician. It's pricey, but probably worth it in the long run. Don't want to inadvertantly end up with a piece of junk!
