I may have a problem: due to a storm we lost power for about four hours (it's now restored).
What was my chief worry? Not the food in the refrigerator/freezer (what's a little food poisoning among friends?), but the tuning of the piano! I rely on the Piano Life Saver (and it works!). Thankfully the RH in the house during that time was about 40%, so no crazy extremes.
I just thought one or two others here might appreciate and sympathize with my whackadoodle priorities!

I wouldn't worry too much about it, RobAc. Worse case scenario, you may want to have your piano tuned, but I doubt 4 hours without power, and not much of RH change would cause a problem with your piano.
As for food in the frig and freezer, if you didn't open the frig/freezer door, you should be good to go there too.
I lost power during the night too, due to strong thunderstorms, but all it affected was my digital clocks not powered by batteries.
All the best!

I'm so confused. I read and reread your post multiple times and could not find any whackadoodle priorities.

There are priorities during a power outage. Wine, making sure it doesn't spoil.

Rick I think I'm in the clear! Did a quick check after the power was restored, before leaving for the day

Probably 99% of piano owners don't have a Piano Life Saver system and have not had any serious problems. But if the tuning was affected you can't change what has already happened anyway.
