I started looking at Tobias Picker's "Where The Rivers Go" and I love Ursula Oppens' recording (available on YouTube).

Have any of you tried this one? Any thoughts on level of technical difficulty, challenge in memorizing, etc.?

Hi, Ken -- I posted this one a couple of years back in the Quarterly E-citals of the Adult Beginners Forum. I would say he level of technical difficulty is in the Intermediate to Late Intermediate range -- it is not unduly demanding. but you do IMO have to balance the accompanying voices against the "aria", and this within a pattern of changing cadences and gestures throughout. Maintaining an appropriate intensity is also a challenge with that long a piece. Very sad but wonderfully expressive piece - go forit!

Hi Tim, thanks for the response. I couldn't find your post, can you give me a link?

Wait a sec, I found it. That's a pretty nice performance. A very different feel from Ursula Oppens. I like Oppens' let's say tempestuousness, but I think you get closer to the "Hauntingly" direction in the score. Well done.
