It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
Well the whole instrument supposed to vibrate with sound. It reminds me of some of the discussions here.Perhaps if the sound portals were a darker colour material or they had sliding wood shutters one could close.,that would be nice! I thought I saw a picture of a new Steingraeber here with these. Yes it seems you can buy pianos on Etsy now!
Actually both the Steingraeber (unless it has been restored well) and the Story & Clark seem rather expensive.
My piano's voice is my voice to God and the great unknown universe, and to those I love.In other words a hymn. That is all, but that is enough.Life goes on, despite pain and fear.Music is beautiful, life is beautiful.
I think Etsy is just a way of advertising and they don't actually end up selling the pianos there.
I actually found my piano on eBay! But I didn't buy it through eBay
I meant that,., My grammar was wrong.I have something through Etsy in the past.Obviously like eBay all or mostly used items.

Good grief, that Steingraeber is a mess. Looks like a prototype piano/advent calendar hybrid. And what's with that dodgy-looking nameplate on the fall? Just horrid! Of course, it may be a great instrument, but I think I'd pass on it just on looks.
Sauter Alpha 160, Yamaha N3 Avant Grand, Sauter Studio Upright (1974)
The Canadian company Lesage also made these. It was called The Bug and was a strung piano with action but no soundboard. Was made for performing musicians. Didn't look as good as the Storytone
I grew up playing a Story&Clark upright. I think it was a 1962 model, which was when the company produced quality American made pianos. I know the brand still makes pianos in China, but I haven’t heard much about the quality or any recommendations to buy a Story&Clark piano anymore. I’d like to try both pianos in the listings but I’m sure both are overpriced.

J & J Estonia L190 Hidden Beauty The reason I’m old and wise is because God protected me when I was young and stupid.
In that video that Suzy posted, that low D doesn't return well.... -_-
j&j, I'm sure you're right re the price. Who knows how much they eventually sell for.
There were about 150 made. Based on rarity alone, I’m sure they will sell for more than I can ever afford
