Hearty congratulations! What an unusual find. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a model 213– it’s weird to see the plate covering the pinblock, and the use of tuning pin bushings. Please post a recording sometime! Also have your tech (or you, if you know how) give the inside of that piano a good dusting…

Once it's tuned again and voice to be more mellow I will definitely post a recording.
And yes, it was very unusual -- just figuring out what I had found was a bit of research!
And thanks! Diamond in the rough, or "unicorn" as the tuner who prepped before my purchase said..

Congratulations, a wonderful piano! Why is the piano model so unusual? Is it quite old or were only a few made that size?
My piano's voice is my voice to God and the great unknown universe, and to those I love.In other words a hymn. That is all, but that is enough.Life goes on, despite pain and fear.Music is beautiful, life is beautiful.

tre corda,
Based on my research there are a few reasons:
1) Bosendorfer only makes a few hundred pianos a year, making any Bosendorfer relatively unusual, especially a larger one 2) The 213 was only manufactured for a relatively short period (possibly as early as the 1970's, no later than ~1998) 3) There were other models that were of similar size (225 et al) which ultimately led to this model being redundant and of less interest
I read that this model was designed to compete with the Steinway B and was voiced brighter than the traditional Bosendorfers. I've also read at least one tech's post that commented on the "disaster" that was the model 213 in terms of its design. I find it all really interesting -- fortunately I think once it's fixed up it will be a fine instrument.
