Hi!

I am looking for a free digital metronome in which I can make the volume of the first beat louder than the other beats, without any change in pitch. I presently use my Soundbrenner metronome for this, but it changes pitch and this is very distracting for me. My Voice Metronome has this option, but I don't usually want to hear a voice. Have you found a metronome that works like this?

Playing the piano is learning to create, playfully and deeply seriously, our own music in the world.

It 's overkill, but there are free "drum machine" apps for Ap ple & Android. "G-stomper" is one.

There's a learning curve, but it's pretty simple to do what you want. Just one drum (or other sound), accented on the first beat in the pattern.

Try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eumlab.android.prometronome

There is an iPhone version. The default is a different tone on the first beat but you can change the tone type in the configurations. I tried and the volume difference is not significant, but still... It is worth a try.

I use this one as well and like it a look. The sounds Blip (#3) and Drums (#12) do not change the pitch.

It’s not free but I highly recommend Metronomics which is an iOS/android app and the most comprehensive metronome I have ever used. A musician and music educator friend recommended it and I’ve been using it for nearly ten years now.
