I wonder what happened with PTQ to want to sell it... Which VST is replacing it, if you can tell us?

@EB5AGV:

Yeah. Nothing wrong with Pianoteq per se. :-)

It's just that a deep connection was never made between me and a digital piano , despite the effort and time I put into improving it. There's a kind of physical detachment that prevents me from getting absorbed in the instrument. I concluded that it will never "feel" like the real thing albeit the sound aspect can be and has been improved.

I've decided to pick up my previous instrument again which I can practice for hours while actually enjoying the practice hours because of the close intimacy I feel with it. It's an acoustic steel-string guitar. I also dedicate some time each day to practice the recorder. I love the feel of playing wind instruments.

I'll admit though that it's possible that even a good upright piano would not satisfy me either, as far as the intimacy aspect goes, which is a completely personal matter.

OK, I see. Well, my experience with other instruments is so scarce that I can't compare. But for me, both piano VSTs and my acoustic upright create, some times, that link. Perhaps I am easier to satisfy wink

Aha! Won't it be very difficult, or maybe forbidden, to pay money to someone in Iran?

No. It's definitely not forbidden, nor difficult.

nice

don't discount the melodica as a wind instrument especially given the time you've put into the piano. for roughly $20 at the bottom end (they can sound fine even at that price), it is a risk-free investment to trial or just tinker with. ymmv
