Well, was Johann Zebrakovsky or Lebrakovsky? why was he making small parlor pianos in Vienna? and how did one get to Tennessee? That damper rail looks odd, too -- the leg could be anywhere from 1840 to 1880 if it were American. Very clean instrument.

It looks like an L (if it were a Z, the first stroke would be straight horizontal, no?)

His name was Zebrakovsky. Found a web page : https://www.ebay.at/itm/original-an...hann-Zebrakovsky-Wien-1900-/352223175659 German eBay for a piano 1900. No picture, and the page needs to be translated.

It is indeed a Z. The initial stroke going all the way to the top left, i.e. a mirror image of the bottom stroke, is characteristic of the Z. And the horizontal stroke through the middle of the letter, still used by many Germans today, confirms a Z, too.

What the heck? 😳 ?

My piano's voice is my voice to the great unknown, out there..in other words a hymn. That is all but that is enough.

Just sold my old C2 and am thinking of replacing it with a CBechstein124, Schimmel K132 or a YUS5.
