Of course that is deliberate.

Edvard Munch's The Scream has been parodied (as well as imitated) ever since he painted it, even more than Mona Lisa.

Dame Mitsuko has an irrepressible sense of humor, as anyone who's heard her being interviewed knows - she used to appear quite often in BBC Radio 3's In Tune late afternoon program, where she talked about her two pianos as if they were her naughty children with minds of their own wink .

The pose she adopted for her Beethoven Op.109-111 CD was obviously to show her mock horror at what Luddy expected of the pianist in those pieces.......

The album was released in 1964. Really bad hair year. Unfortunately, I remember it well.
