And I can't wait to hear your reaction. PLEASE be sure to compare it (sound, touch, etc.) to the higher end M&H's they have on the floor. Really interested in your perception of the differences.

I should know this but where is the M&H Artist series made?

"In 2020, Mason & Hamlin introduced two new lower-priced series of pianos: Artist and Classic. They are made in China in partnership with Pearl River, and have much in common with Pearl River’s premium-quality lines. The Artist series models are equipped with high-performance WNG carbon-fiber composite actions and anodized aluminum action and keyboard hardware. The Classic series models have WNG shanks and flanges and the advanced action and keyboard hardware. The Artist series currently offers 5′ 3″ and 6′ 2″ grand models and 48″ and 51″ verticals. The Classic series offers 4′ 11″ and 5′ 6″ grands and a 47″ vertical. All models have solid spruce soundboards, and all grands have beech rims."

Thanks. I thought so because of the lower MSRP of the Artist series. I’m interested in what people think and how they compare to the other original M&H pianos.

Yes I know we go by SMP but I’m not shopping to replace my Estonia. Never say never but I think me and Amadeus will stay together for quite awhile. 🙂

Haha, even if it was, would it be so bad? I see M&H banner on the margin here all the time.

WOW - I also just found out they got the 'Floor Model' Prototype of the new CONCERT 9'4" VX

I am going to get to play that one as well!

THAT will be a once in a Lifetime Experience, I'm sure.

Sure - but M&H pays for that.

At about 1/4 the price of the regular M&H, I suspect the Artist pianos will not be very comparable. They may be good pianos in their price range which I would characterize as very low. They are designed to appeal to a completely different buyer.

Yes, I was asking in a politically correct way. 🙂

Maybe it should be played before it is categorized as ‘very low’.

Actually I assume there's a significant difference between the two even though both are "built" by Pearl River.

I believe Pearl River is putting the WNG action in the MHA models.

"Very low" clearly refers to its price which is basically known from Piano Buyer.

I wonder if tit-for-tat tariff wars have spared pianos, because otherwise the cost saving from product differentiation/outsourcing would be somewhat negated by import duties.

I was wondering about this too. If I'm not mistaken, there are two new lines, and only one of them gets the WNG action. ???

I just looked at the M & H website, and they are indicating that the (Pearl River) Classic Series models (MHC, two grands and an upright) all have a wood action.
