So for now: definitely pack your VPC1 in its original box, and then wrap the blankets around the closed box. You don't want start and other dirt from the blankets on/in your keybed, so no blankets directly around the VPC1!

Stow the blanket-wrapped box securely in the van so it can't move during the drive.

All the best!

Wonderful. Thank you so much, HZ! I hear you up to 20K! smile
With that, I'm content and ready to go. Thanks for your kind wishes, I think with the friends I have, it's going to be very smooth!
Thanks again!!!

And put the box flat, i.e. so the VPC1 sits on its usual position, don't put the box on its side

The UHaul trucks run rough over bumps. So think about some thick cushions below the box.

Also make sure the box is well secured so it is not sliding all around the truck.

My piano survived the move from Florida to North Carolina in 2013, and from there to Pennsylvania in 2020. No damage.

The protection? Furniture blankets.

😄

And that's even across the Atlantic...

Again, best of luck with the move and in your new place.

Unfortunately, my friend just got the truck and reported back there are no furniture blankets provided. Also the bedding material is not too thick for the box. All I have is the original packaging. Hopefully I won't have to call a technician to look at the keyboard after my move...

Don't worry, mine went without a thick packaging and survived a 375km trip home

Hello @David Lai,

How did y'all do, and how did your instruments, on the move to your new place?

Hope all and everybody is well.

Hi HZ! Happy ending. smile Everything is well, and my instrument is settling in with no problems. No sticky keys, no strange action problems, and everything is working normally. I got my room sorted out as well, so now I have the best sound a cube shaped room can offer.
Thanks for the well wishes! smile
