I am wondering if I can change the mapping of the keys in the trial version. There is just one piece I want my son to play with pianoteq, and its impossible because just one key. So, is it possible to change which keys dont work for some that do?

I very much doubt it, or at least that it would be easy, because most music pieces do not involve all keys, so in essence this would allow one to use Pianoteq indefinitely for non-trial purposes.

IMO Pianoteq would be the first VST to buy, unless you really don't like the sound, which is easy to evaluate in the trial version.

Since it is only a few notes missing, if you don’t mind a different piano sound out of them, you could use something like GarageBand (if on Mac) and layer a build in piano sound to fill in the missing notes. Make it softer so it doesn’t affect the main pianoteq sound too much.

Some of the available options include:
- Buy Pianoteq
- Transpose the music to a different key
- Don't use Pianoteq at all

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I am not going to buy pianoteq yet. I will wait till I can afford a decent digital piano first, and then I will compare and judge if it is worth it. Now I play on a yamaha ew300, so it is a bit pointless to get pianoteq. I personally like pianoteq's sounds, I don't love them, but they are ok. My son on the other hand .....doesnt like it at all...

Well, an EW300 is touch-sensitive (I think). So it's not "pointless" to get Pianoteq -- it's almost surely better than the built-in sound generator.

But if you don't really like the sounds, and your son is opposed to it, _that_ makes the purchase pointless.

PianoTeq requires some time to 'learn'. It's not only that it plays differently, it feels also different.
More dynamics are possible etc.
You also have to find out the proper output volume...

I like pianoteq mainly because setting it up to play expressively was not that hard. The thing with my son is that although he practices on the ew300, he plays a lot on an acoustic..... Oh well, we'll see, its not something urgent anyway.
