Hello guys,
I have an KORG C1 for 6 months now and I am trying to dump song recorded on it to my PC using MIDI/USB but nothing happens. KORG MIDI Data Filer detect the cable but something is wrong (i guess)... I am following the C1 Owner's Manual.. Any ideas?

I'd make sure that the cable connects to the correct In/Out ports, so that the flow of data is correct: In to Out and visa versa.

Also try another MIDI recording software to rule out software problem.

I can't afford an acoustic piano therefore I have a digital piano; And I appreciate it. I have to.

Looking at the on-line manual, there does not appear to be a lot to do in order to dump data out the C1 midi port and into the PC usb port.

Page 14 mentions “midi function mode” . When you enter this mode, there are several buttons you can use for various functions, such as Piano2 for setting Local - On/Off, and the Harpsi/Clav button to Dump recorded songs.

Page 15 section *3 instructs you to “press button” - this probably means “press the Harpsi/Clav button”, after which you should see “ddd” appear in the display and the C1 goes into dump standby mode...... dunno what “ddd” refers to.

As meghdad advised, make sure the C1 midi-out connects to the midi-in of usb adapter, and midi-in of C1 to midi-out of usb adapter. It is unclear what other midi software he suggests you try. The fact that your DataFiler software detects when you connect the usb/midi adapter is probably a good sign.

You may need to have the C1 local control turned off in order for C1 to send or receive midi data.

I don't know about Windows, but you can use a piano app for Android or iPhone like this one:
