Hi folks,

ANY news on the progress with all the reported bugs?

Or with the light OFF feature?

Or same as with all older Kawai DPs....nothing until new model comes up and than switch to "is not possible anymore for the outdated CA99".

Bugs reported for older Kawai DPs were fixed, and bugs reported for the CA99/CA79 will also be fixed. Please don't worry.

Kind regards,
James

kpuk, the only bug that I am aware of is the swiping issue on the 2020 iPad Pro.

I gather that this will be fixed with the next update.

Kind regards,
James

I am facing the same issue on my ipad 2019. Just for the info.

The 2020 version is only a few weeks out...with LIDAR scanner.

@Kawai James Will the app support other models also (such as CA-x8 series, CN series, other newer models in the CA series)?

No, I'm afraid not.

PianoRemote is only compatible with instruments that utilise Kawai's new communication system (CA99/CA79, shortly CA49/CA59, and future models).

Kind regards,
James

Hi James,

I would like to write you that this bug disappeared after I installed iPadOS 14 on my iPad Air gen. 3!

Kawai,
please make such a remote for Windows as well.
It would be very useful for people who use touch screen monitors or all-in-one (AiO) computers with touch screens with their CA79/CA99, as I do.
I have a 24" AiO hanging right there in front of me even lower than the top of my CA99, and there is nothing I can do.
Or can I? If I am not mistaken, windows android emulators do not support bluetooth. But maybe I am mistaken.
Anyway, direct windows support would be great.

I think in the CA79/CA99 owners' thread or somewhere it was mentioned the sync problem.
About saving different settings in the built-in app and the remote app and not getting them in sync.
I don't see anything about it here.

I wonder if the remote app is working in "write only" mode or it actually reads the values from CA99.
So far, I did not try to save anything with it.
If I have the velocity curve set to Hard1, I keep my CA99 on but allow the remote app to close or to disconnect, after starting or connecting it again in shows the velocity curve as Normal.
I guess, I need to recognize if it remains Hard1 or goes to Normal.
If it actually changes the value to Normal - is such a behavior correct, if it happens just after reconnecting? If so, if the connection drops, then the current changes are gone.

OK, I tested with killing the app and starting it again. I can confirm that it is working in write-only mode.
My actual CA99 settings remain unchanged (but changed previously, different than the default ones), but the app is showing the default values instead.
It should read the current values from my CA99, but it does not.
I did not try yet with saving the settings in the remote app.

Hi James,

Do you have any idea when Piano Remote will be available for CA49/59 models?

Thanks smile

Hello AndresVel,

I'm afraid I cannot provide an exact date, however I believe it should be available for the CA49/CA59 and ES520/ES920 soon.

The instruments will require a software update in order to use the app. I've already prepared the update instructions, so it shouldn't be longer before the public release.

Kind regards,
James

Hello folks,

A brief post to inform you that the PianoRemote app v1.1 has been released, adding the ability to record and share performances from within the app.

https://www.kawai-global.com/news/pianoremote_app_v11_released/

Stay tuned for v1.2 (and accompanying DP updates...) - I have a feeling it will be gratefully received by some members of this forum.

Kind regards,
James

Still possible to have more than one user sound with the same name and still not possible to delete a separate user sound, it’s all or nothing.
Didn’t care to continue testing…
I guess all the other bugs are still there. Sigh…

Any chance to include CN-29 and CN-39 also?
CN-29 should not be that dissimilar to CA-49, is it?

And is there a way to listen through piano speakers while headphones remain plugged in? I am thinking about an additional menu entry via software update.

The change log doesn’t mention User sounds, so it’s fair to assume this behaviour is unchanged.

If you encounter any bugs within the app (note: actual bugs, not “this is not how i think it should work”), please feel free to let me know.

Kind regards,
James

CN29/CN39 is not supported, I’m afraid.

The ability to allow speakers to produce sound while headphones are connected is not within the scope of PianoRemote, however I don’t believe there are any plans to implement this feature in the instruments’ firmware.

James
