That thread was about the user's difficulty getting the Focusrite to work. This thread is about the "distant" sound of Pianoteq ... or of Garritan as someone said. I don't see any connection to Focusrite.

that thread was about the user claiming the product didn't do what he wanted, until he went away for a little while and found that actually it did

same user, same problem

That thread was about a nothing-burger, but per usual we turn it into a wartime drama with good soldiers and bad lieutenants fighting for supremacy!

Spoiler alert: Pianoteq wins the proverbial war in the end!

Those of you who have PTQ 7 and the C. Bechstein DG instrument pack, who think that all PTQ pianos sound like they're in another room, please do me a favor. Pull up the C. Bechstein DG Player preset and play a couple dozen notes, from low to mid to high.

If that sound is not "in your face, in the room", well... there must be something very different about our setups.

On my VPC1 with my PreSonus Eris 3.5" speakers, I can practically feel the hammers hitting the strings. Its presence is palpable...

Tried this one, definite improvement!

OK, I have it right now. Garritan should be set to performer's perspective!

so the answer to your question is:

garritan cfx has the same problem as focusrite
But there are so many different configurations for Garritan, it took me a long while to get it to sound perfect. The defaults are all wrong.

And there are those who might think, or say the same about Pianteq.
I thought that about my P515 when I got it.
I don't want to buy an acoustic, get it home and try to alter the defaults. no no NO! I'd rather do Rehab . . .

This was interesting, I mean t he stereophonic output. I had the output type the same before I realized how muffled chords sound compared to the default sound recording type; That ringing sound of the strings I mean.

Here's the preset that I'm using . It's also a custom Petrof. This sounds as intimate and close as I've been able to make it.

I can't afford an acoustic piano therefore I have a digital piano; And I appreciate it. I have to.

Thanks for your trouble, but I don't much like the idea of d/l stuff directly to my computer.
