It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
Since the P515 looks like it's out of the picture for this year and I find the CP88 action too light and piano too bright, I'm considering the NG. I have a good price on it new, plus it's in stock.
I'd actually take it out on some select jazz gigs, provided the schlep in wasn't too hard and it wasn't a real cramped set up space. It's even a couple lbs. lighter then the P515.
I would still hold onto my CP4 for smaller set up areas and obstacle course like load ins.
I'd guess knowing the crowd here, most users would likely be home players but that's ok. Just wanted some general feedback from owners that have had it awhile to see if the action is still tight and hasn't deteriorated in that dreaded fatar zone of noise and sluggishness. And if you still dig the piano sounds after extended use. And generally, would you buy it again if you had it to do over ?
I've owned two Nord pianos in the past -- the original and the NP2. So I'm out of the loop on the newer samples as well.
I've played the NG a few times spread out over a few years and each time I liked it. But some time has passed since I last played it.
If I’m not mistaken the action in the nord grand is a kawai action not fatar.

Yes I know and forgot to include that in my OP. The time to edit the post had expired and I was going to add another post but went out to practice for a bit. I knew someone would point that out and rightfully so....thanks.
In late June there was user luisdent - experienced pianist who also likes to record/produce. He inquired upon recommendations for a midi keyboard .... and when the dust settled and his thread quiesced, he was decidedly content to continue on with the model he found in stock somewhere - which he admitted was perhaps not ideal BUT he’d quickly grown to love for his intended purposes - ..... a NordGrand .... and has not been seen here since, so he must be enjoying that ..... being in love as it were 😍
I'm not aware of too many users here who have a Nord Grand, but Animenz is a well known Youtuber pianist, clearly virtuosic, who plays on a Nord Grand when he's not on his Steinway grand, which may be right up Dave Ferris' alley (even if the style of music may not be)?
