Believe it or not: this morning I went out with the dog for a walk in the park, and suddenly heard a bird chirping a riff in a strict 11/16, including pauses. I don’t remember having ever met such a thing! Perhaps it was a Balkan turtledove.

Funny, I was walking down the beach this morning and heard two seagulls squawking in 13/8, with rests every alternate beat. At least they didn't steal my food.

How beautiful. And they don't even need a metronome must be nice to have such a natural rhythm although I'm sure we do as well to some extent.
