My friend has a piano of this brand
Did not find information on the piano anywhere.
Tell me what is it and what is the story of the brand?

He thinks to sell it, but does not understand how much it might cost.

The piano brand is not recognized in the Pierce Piano Atlas, and, looking at the photo, I would strongly doubt that it has any value. Of course, value - if any - depends upon the condition of the piano, and no indication of condition is given in your post. That the piano has 85 keys and has built-in candle holders (although their placement seems odd), suggests that the piano may be very old. Given that it's not a known brand, I would guess that it has no appreciable value unless someone has lavished a lot of care on it over time.

Moreover, there are so many old upright pianos languishing in people's homes and that they can't get rid of; this may just another one of those.

You don't indicate where this piano is located (country? city?).

There was an "S Rose & Co" that made pianos for the Indian market a century ago.

Where is this piano located? Does it have any markings inside to indicate where it was made? I and wondering whether C Rose relates to Marshall & Rose

Keep in mind that "C Rose" and "S Rose" may not be the same thing.

The "S Rose" pianos were made for the Indian market by Allison and Co. in Britain. They were exported from the UK to Bombay. That arrangement collapsed in 1947, I believe.

Since the music is Cyrillic script, C. Rose could be S. Rose, but either way, it looks like an old upright of no particular value.

Interesting. I hadn't noticed that. Perhaps Allison made pianos for the Russian market too. Although it would be odd to have the first letter changed to Cyrillic but the "Rose" staying Latin.

Well, best guess that it is indeed a British-made Allison piano.

How would anyone on a discussion board have any clue how much that piano originally cost. You don't even know the age of the piano.

In 1910 a Steinway & Sons upright K series cost around $550. I don't think that's a particularly meaningful number to help one think about the value of a piano today. As others have said, older uprights today tend to have very little market value except in very rare and odd circumstances. Maybe the old piano was in Teddy Roosevelt's White House, or the piano belonged to the young Tsarevich Alexei and there is documentary proof.

What do you need a value number for?

Good decision on the piano. The sconces looked like great Art Nouveau pieces, though.
