Hi! I have a new Disklavier U1 Enspire that I want to record and use in my music production. I've managed to connect the piano to the computer via usb and use it in my DAW (Reaper),however when I playback the midi file the velocity of the performance doesnt seem very accurate and differ every time. How do I get a accurate and consistent velocity from my Disklavier?

Hello David,

This is a forum for acoustic piano technicians. You might have have better luck getting answers in the Digital Pianos forum. All the best.

I suspect that there are two things that you need to do: Regulate and voice the piano carefully, and then there is some sort of calibration that needs to be done to the Disklavier system. Pro-TAC will probably have more exact information.

I don't know the exact answer, but just record it directly into your DAW without generating a MIDI file. When playing at the same time as acoustic piano, apply a delay of 500 msec to the digital sound.
I'm sorry if it's off the mark.
