Could anyone share how:
1) do you prevent Key tops from getting yellowish (due to porous nature of NeoTex keys)?

2) remove the yellowish if already there?

Thanks.

No idea my friend. Perhaps always clean your hands before playing, dust covers and don't let the keys looking at the sun.

You can try a mild abrasive such as toothpaste or porcelain cleaner. This is just a guess based on previous plastic stain removal. Takes some elbow grease. If you try it and it does nothing, call Kawai.

How old is it?

Are the keys glossy or satin? Is Neotex supposed to be Kawai' s version of artificial ivory?

The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works well to clean them, but it's really best to have your technician do this. The keys should be removed and cleaned.

Once clean, they can be polished and waxed to seal the pores. But then they will feel like waxed keys - you may not like that feeling, and want to let them be porous.

You know, genuine ivory discolors over time also - for some of the same reasons as the modern substitutes.

This is interesting. As an owner of a new kawai with neotex keytops, is it recommended to leave the fallboard open or closed? Since i'm aware that ivory keys get yellow when left closed.
Personally i keep the fallboard closed all the time except when using the piano

Keeping it closed keeps the dust off, so they stay cleaner.
There is no benefit to keeping it open - in this regard NEOTEX is not like Ivory.
