And NV-10, the volume is to low, that 90-100% is a must (again maybe is a wrong apreciation, as the place in where I test these instruments was very very big, but NV-5 was sooo mush louder, thats why maybe a lower volume need to be set for this model)

Are you sure the settings are on default (e.g., Speaker volume is not set on Low in the UI?) On my NV-10, a "real grand piano" volume is around 50%, and 90-100 is eardrum-splitting loud at the bench (I'd say louder than a grand).

The percentage setting on a volume control is meaningless.
Different pianos have different samples with different DACs and different amplifiers and different speakers.
So 50% on one piano might be louder the 100% on another.

And that's the reason this is funny ...

Sounds like that would be a QC issue.

or setting, or room acoustic...
Im not sure... I ask to set both piano at factory defaults before testing, but who knows...

At least, both piano, NV-5 and 10 have same amplifier... DAC could be different though. Point is that I play a little bit with setting but couldn’t get the amount of volume I want on NV-10...

Surely, if one DP is 2x20W and an other is 6x50W, the 100% whatever it is called will makes different sound volume.

And even 2 amplifications rated at the same electrical power may result in different volume depending of the speaker sensitivity.

I found quite funny the 11th volume level. This change from the 0-10 levels.

Hello,

I’m in Sydney, Australia and saw on one Australian website that they had the NV5 in stock. I contacted the store and they said they only received one and it was on the floor. I ordered it and when I saw the invoice it said NV5S! So yesterday I got the delivery of the new updated version! smile Must be one of the only ones available down here...

OMG frosas, you are the guy who was selling the N2 in Chile, I was in your flat checking your amazing piano, unique offer considering the limited options there.
Anyway, I ended buying a K300, as I have a lot of space at home, and no problems with my neighbours... I prefear the real thing (acoustic)... but reality was:
-My wife almost left me because of piano practice
-My company relocate me in Madrid
Sadly I ended up selling my 3 month old K300 to a lucky guy.
Maybe It would have been better to purchase your N2 and bring it to spain by sea.
Because in Spain, home space is a luxury, and neighbours will complain for sure (and wife)...so I will try with the closest to the real thing...
I'm glad you sold the piano and are happy with the new one.

BTW, today I receive a call from the dealer, They say my new piano will be here at noon tomorrow...

Small world! I finally sold the N2 to a guy from Spain who lives in Chile. laugh

I have seen the video from Merriam Music and they insist on setting volume over 50% otherwise you're going to feel the action heavy.
I'm used to playing with volume under 40% on my CLP-645 - a lot of neighbours around - and this could be a caveat.
Any opinions about this?

This advice to set your digital piano very loud is complete BS. It is only required when you want your DP to reflect an acoustic piano.

I have never played on analog instruments. Even all of my organs were digital.

When I touch the keys on a digital piano _very softly_, I expect a _very soft_ sound. Pianoteq showed that my normal MF playing was in the range of 30-40 with regard to midi values, instead of 50-60. I don't even want to hit the keyboard so hard as to achieve values over 100, because it feels uncomfortable to me (both with regard to playing, and the longevity of the keyboard).

Therefore I just hit the keyboard as hard as I'm comfortable with, set the volume to the maximum I want the piano to emit at that point (around 80 dB), and then I leave it at that. I've also limited my organs in that way: master volume set as such that the organ emits at maximum 80 dB with all stops open and the expression pedal fully depressed.

If the volume gets over 85 dB, it gets uncomfortable for me really fast.

To me, an acoustic piano sounds unreasonably loud, and even when I hit the limits of how soft I can play on the keyboard, I often want to go softer...

It all depends on your reference.

I think that this statement (more than 50%, up to 75%) rather referred to the NV5. Personally, I would not doubt this opinion. At least not as long as I have not been able to play the system (NV5) extensively myself.

Kind regards,
MBiG

how can I post pictures here? maybe I can share some of my "visual inspection" findings.
Hammers inside are different, and I have some pics of the speakers, maybe we can compare with the non S model.

Wait a minute, you already got the NV10S? I wonder where that ‘4-to-6-months’ waiting period came from; could it be sleazy dealers?

Now, about them pictures, one of our trained techs (nerds) will promptly assist you with this.

Yes, we’re desperate for something tangible on the NV10S, even a nekid hammer pic; which, incidentally, is yet another upgrade from the previous -very unstable- hammers.

Congrats!🍾🎉🎊

In Poland, there is one dealer that is getting orders for other dealers and handles shipments from Kawai. Kawai ships containers that take ~2 months to arrive (I don't know how often they ship them, rather not often). The dealer don't know exactly if newer models will be available in the next shipment, hence it could be in 2, 4 or 6 months... At least this is what I understand how it works here.

You may do in two ways. You can use the forum gallery: http://forum.pianoworld.com/ubbthreads.php/forums/42/1/piano-photo-gallery-pictures-of-pianos.html The link has instructions to post pictures, a little outdated though. It is a little tricky to some but it is the best way to avoid the pictures "go away" should the picture host go belly up or change their service terms.

Or you can use a image host, e.g., https://imgbb.com/. Whatever host you choose, make sure to use the BBCode, trying to use the URL shown by the browser doen not work.

Congrats Rafael!!! I believe that the NV10 is a superb instrument, so something better than that is mostly welcome!!! Let us know your impressions!

I would be curious as to your thoughts on the pedals. Are they very stiff? (I really wish manufacturers would provide pressure poundage on pedals)
