I own a Yamaha CP88 and I am quite happy with the keys, obviously weighted and piano oriented.

As I also want to play some VST pipe organ would anyone recommend a 61 keys, non weighted or semi weighted suitable for playing pipe organ ? I know there's several offerings in this space, Arturia, NI, panorama and others.

I don't care too much for many controls, what I care about is a solid, not too plasticky, not strictly synth oriented keybed

I can stretch my budget up to around 500

Thanks for any suggestion.

Once for Hauptwerk I used the AKAI Advance 61 MIDI keyboard (it's now discontinued, maybe you can find one for cheap) that has a very nice action.
I had also an Icon iKeyboard 6 it was cheap and it had a good keybed too, but it stopped working after 3 years...
Now I use a Crumar Mojo 61 + its lower manual.

There are dedicated organ midi actions:

If you can live with midi over USB only, a Roland Go:keys would be an interesting midi conttoller because it also would be a standalone portable keyboard with builtin sounds. A used 61-key keyboard would be an inexpensive solution.

Tx for the suggestions. Midiworks stuff looks great but it's very expensive also. Roland Go seem promising, I'll try and test it at a nearby store.

A different tack would be a midi controller like Akai MPK261 that would provide a variety of sliders, knobs etc. that you may be able to map to organ stops for the VST. This would enable changing registrations in real time while playing if you get the mapping to work.

Yes, "best" and "expensive" usually trend together smile Not always, but mostly.
