Hi,
I meant the music stand (not music desk, sorry for my mistake), or reading desk for the music sheets.
With the lids closed I have to find a replacement for the music stand because it cannot be used.

This morning I visited a shop and they suggested me to use alcantara as a good material to make a string cover.
What do you think? It costs twice the felted wool, however, it looks much better and it seems more finished. I looked up to its properties but I did not find a convincing information about its ability to protect from moisture.

It is durable and easy to clean, might be good as piano cover. I would not use it for string cover.

I VladK, I talked with the manager who sold me my GL-30 and he said that in Rome I should not care about moisture. If this is true, in my case the string cover should be used only to protect the inside of my piano from dust. Besides the moisture issue, there are other reasons for which you do not see alcantara as a good solution for the string cover?

If it is breathable, then it might probably be a good string cover. Otherwise it might affect high frequencies too much.
