I've often felt that my ears are not very sensitive or trained, but I'm hearing that this piano is not completely in tune. Is it, maybe? Nevertheless, terrific playing.

Yes it needs to be tuned. You can hear the twang in the very first note. Not atypical of YouTube at-home piano performances.

Some notes in the upper register are quite out of tune. What make and size is the piano? It has a rather thin, nasal quality to the tone suggesting that either it is quite a small grand or that the hammers need voicing.

Thanks for replies, then I heard right. I don't know what size the piano is, but I agree it appears to be a smaller grand. Since the video is shot from a 45 degree angle the logo is a bit unclear to read, but it seems to be a Kawai.
