Hi there,

I have just purchased a second hand Kawai VPC1 and I have a few questions.

Firstly, it does not have the music stand with it - does anyone know where I could purchase the music stand by itself? I have googled and haven't found anything. Alternatively, I know many don't like it and it does indeed look a bit ugly, so are there any good third party keyboard mountable music stands that could be used in its place?

Secondly, although it comes with a stand, I would prefer a furniture style stand like digital pianos have to make it feel more like a piano. Does anyone know of any options for this?

Thirdly, I intend to use it with Garrison CFX - has anyone used this combo before? If so, could you recommend velocity curve settings?

Thank you very much for any time and advice, this is a great forum and I'm glad to finally be able to be apart of it!

AFAIK Kawai music stands are only available as a "spare part" unless you find some private person selling a one.

Also AFAIK the one that comes with the VPC1 and the one that came with the ES7/ES8 "designer stand" at least were "compatible" as in having similar mounting holes at a similar distance, so an ES7/ES8 music stand could also work and look nicer. Someone used a one for an MP11SE:

The newer ES520/ES920 music stand seems to be completely different.

Third party would be difficult as the mounting systems vary so much between brands and even within a brand's products.

But a generic "table top" music stand could work simply placed on top of the VPC1.

Depending on your comfort with woodworking, it's not difficult to make something. Here is a basic stand I made for my MP11SE. I made it out of construction grade lumber on the cheap because it was only going in my basement. But it was great because it was customized to my specific needs. I ended up modifying it (not show in the pictures below) to accommodate my computer and the 2i4 audio interface.

This looks fantastic! I would love to be able to build one, but I'm terrible at that kind of thing I'm afraid!
