I posted this in another forum, but it occurs to me that members here would enjoy this:

I now know there are at least several members of PW who will be joining for this wonderful program. One member PM’ed me and shared he was surprised how inexpensive this is.

True, in person programs like this cost waaay more. This could be the perfect way to be introduced to a technique that has the potential to change the way you play - and the way you think about how you play - and all for less than a single high end lesson.

Actually, you can access it any time after the event:

“Registered Students will receive necessary handouts and a link to Dr. Chang's "Rapid Results Master Class" where you can submit your problem passages for presentation at the class prior to the event as well as a link to replay the event when it is available after its completion.“

Very cool! I’ve been wanting a piano retreat for a while now, definitely doing this one! ❤️

One of my customers was just talking about how learning Taubman's methods was helping her. We're now talking about adjustments to her bench that better fit with her new posture instructions. Every year, I hear from customers that "discover" her methods and how it helps them. When I saw the price, I thought it was for one session, not all-day access. It looks like a great program, Rich.

Rich, will the replay only be available after the event is over, or can I just watch with a 2-hour delay and catch up to the live event during the lunch break?

Hmmm.... I am not sure. I will ask and get back to you. That’s a good question.

I believe the whole video will be available after the event is over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t pop in when you want, then watch what you missed later. 😊👍

I run Zoom classes and also offer a video afterward, which requires about an hour’s worth of processing and uploading. The live event has to be finished before you can offer the video.

Thanks, let me know! Trying to decide if I should say that I'm willing to do the masterclass live!

What?? That is SO cool! (I would really enjoy seeing your beautiful Bösendorfer on the feed).

I've signed up the event but didn't see the Zoom link. Would the link be sent a few days before the event?

I got an email from Eventbrite, there is a link that takes you to the event site. Just sign in with the information you used when you signed up for the course. It doesn’t look like it’s through Zoom, but their own particular format. 👍

I ended up saying "maybe". The passage I'm having issues with is for a new piece I'm working on and I'm not solid on it at all, so it'll probably completely fall apart if I try to play it live. But I submitted a video so you will recognize my piano if it shows up on the feed!

I submitted my form and they said that ALL masterclass questions will be answered by Dr. Chang, and you can submit multiple questions/passages! I think that alone is worth the price of admission! Trying to think of whether there's other things I should submit-- but everything I can think of right now my reaction is just "I need to practice more" 😂

I have the same question. For the masterclass, would the teacher be expecting us to almost finish and memorize the piece? I just started practicing two Chopin Etudes for a couple of weeks. I’m far from playing memorized and in tempo. However, I think I would benefit the most from Taubman approaches by using that in etudes or technical exercises.

I’m not ready to record myself yet but may be I could do that by May 23rd.

It's not a normal masterclass, this is a "helping you with specific issues that you're having" masterclass. And you wouldn't be submitting a complete piece, just a sample passage that you'd like help with (and it doesn't even have to be shown on the stream that day, she'll answer all submitted questions which is AMAZING). My sample video was 30 seconds and about one page. For mine, I just can't play it without a stiff wrist and it'll probably get painful when I get it up to speed, so I would definitely like some help!

I think they are encouraging people to submit early so that Dr. Chang can start looking at them, but it's also okay to submit later! I hate having stuff hanging over me (especially since I had a new stereo recording setup to figure out) so just wanted to get it done smile

Just a heads up - today is the last day to get an "early bird" registration price of $75.00. After today, you can still register, but the registration price goes up to $100.00.
