Hi Everyone,

i have an interesting situation with my garritan CFX, whenever i press A1 there are sometimes that the note remains ringing if i dont lift my finger (as it always should be) but sometimes just after i hit it, it sounds and stops (while my finger is still pressing the key). i managed to record this example. i am hitting the note several times and i always leave my finger pressed, you will notice sometimes it keeps ringing and sometimes it stops (at 0:10 more clearly), any recommendations? i have a roland fp-10, A1 works perfect when i am not using garritan CFX and just using the default sound from roland.

I'd put a MIDI monitor on that so that I could see what's happening.

Sorry my bad, i see its the midi problem, tried with Pianissimo VST and same thing happens here you can find the MIDI monitor results.

note off: velocity:0 is exactly when the note stops playing by itself.

i have noticed that when this problem happens, 4 midi notes are triggered.

Example:
Note on velocity 101: when i press the key
Note off velocity:0 when sound stops by itself, (my finger still pressing the key)
Note on velocity:28 is triggered inmediately (my finger is still pressing the key)
Note off velocity: 96, when i lift my finger

any thoughts?

Since you said this doesn't happen when you play the native sound through your FP-10, it could be that your DP is sending spurious MIDI signals. If it's inside your DP, there's probably not much you can do outside of getting service/replacement. You might want to try a different USB or MIDI cable, in case it is being caused a loose connection...

Does it happen with any other key?

One other test - when you get a note-off velocity zero, it looks like you don't get another note-off when you actually lift your finger off the key, is that correct?

Can you get multiple note-on's by releasing the key only partially, partially and re-pressing the key down?

I can’t recall ever needing to play A1
