Purely for curiosity's sake. Please choose one!

1: I use the USB output on my DP for MIDI on a regular basis.
2: I use the MIDI (5-pin) output on my DP for MIDI on a regular basis.
3: I use both of the above on a regular basis
4: I use neither of the above on a regular basis.
5: I am a special snowflake and refuse to chose one of the above options but also want to play the poll game. wink

And no: I'm not going to define "regular." Deal with it!

1: No
2: No (well, I use it to connect a Yamaha MD-BT01 to enable BT midi on my model that doesn't have inbuilt BT but I guess that's out of context)
3: No
4: Yes
5: No

A man must love a thing very much if he practices it without any hope of fame or money, but even practice it without any hope of doing it well. Such a man must love the toils of the work more than any other man can love the rewards of it.

The main use of my N1X is standalone (4). I use it on USB (MIDi+audio) with some VST (1), but not regularly.

I have tried the MD-BT01 (2), but when SmartPianist is connected, the control buttons of the N1X are disabled ! Then I have given the MIDI dongle to a member of my family.

Hello,

Option 1, out of a Roland FP-10.

Regularly, as in Always.

😉

Cheers and happy pollinating,

1. Occasionally when I wish to remind myself why I dislike PianoTeq.

2. Used when master keyboard doesn't have USB (current keyboard does, previous one didn't).

5: I use the 5-pin MIDI IN on my DP on a regular basis, but have not yet had a need to use MIDI OUT on this instrument.

PC got no midi input
MIDI to USB adds another layer with no added benefit
One cable:USB used both for power and for MIDI transport
