You know how DP manuals don't / can't use official names for things? So you look for "80's DP" or something like that for the DX-7 sound? What sort of generic name should I be on the lookout for when I'm skimming DP manuals and looking to see if they include a Mellotron-like sound?

Something referring to tape.

At least Dexibell has "taped instruments": https://www.dexibell.com/tapes-sounds/?lang=en

Possibly "strawberry" (🍓) for the flute sound.

I wonder if sounds could be edited to sound like the Mellotron. ADSR editing would be necessary to have the abrupt cut-off. Some tape hiss and flutter would be needed I guess. A low pass filter maybe.

Good suggestions, thanks! Looking through my MX-61, I see both "tape" and "tron" in the synth list. Going to have to fire that up and see what they sound like!
