After a 20 year-ish hiatus from playing the piano and picking it up again, I’ve been learning Claire de Lune and it’s going pretty well, but the arpeggios in measures 37-39 are giving my trouble because of how some of them start with two notes at the bottom.

Playing the bottom note with my little finger feels awkward and trips me up as I continue up the chord, but I can’t figure out a better way of playing them. Any tips?

Well the 5,3 or 5,4 combination is a practical one for several of them. You can always start with 4,3 like for the last arpeggio of bar 38 of the first of bar 39 where it works well. That would work but it will imply something less practical for the rest. You just have to try out and see which combination is the easiest. If you have an issue with your pinky you may as well train it, that will be usefull in other places too.
