She always wants to be the centre of attention. I managed to finish playing somehow. Just a 22s snippet.

Cats have their own moral code, which is ‘be as naughty as you want, just don’t get caught’. That’s only one reason why I love the little boogers

Unless you have cat proofed your house, they are doing exactly what they want to do 😺😺

I love that!
Unfortunately it brings back memories. We had one, similar colouring called Russel (not our idea, he came '2nd hand' from the Cat's Protection League). He was quite a character, and he chose us, rather than the other way round, by sitting bolt upright in the middle of the 'pen' and offering a paw. Just couldn't leave him there....

That is so sweet! I wish a cat would chose me. smile

Playing the piano is learning to create, playfully and deeply seriously, our own music in the world.

Awww. My cat used to come and sit next to the piano and whine when I played. She would not shut up until I stopped.

This is EXACTLY what my one of my three does, LOL. He has a very set schedule, and when it's time for his nap, he insists I accompany him upstairs. Even if it's in the middle of my practice time!

Our little kitty decided to jump on the counter and swipe the butter that was softening up to make the Easter Lamb cake this morning. My wife was not to happy. Last time she got a hold of the butter she ended up barfing up! Wife put her downstairs locked up. Our newest kitty is a pistol but yet she melts our hearts with her cute antics smile

I love cats! Mine will do the same occasionally...
You should be so lucky as to have him stay at the keyboard while you play. This guy has 4 Million views of this video and almost a half million subscribers!

This also happens to be one of my favorite waltzes, that I have not even come close to being able to play well yet.

Nope, no issues with it at all.
Took lessons from 1960 to 1969, stopped at age 16.
Started again in July 2020 at age 67. Lots more fun now!

If you want to be a cat parent, a cat will be glad to choose you. I’ve had four cats as an adult, and 3 of the 4 definitely chose me; the fourth, I chose at a animal rescue. 😺😺

If you get them young you have to deal with the kitten phase but usually they bond to you. Sometimes too much as "Snuggles" really has become our daughters cat. Are recent addition which has already been 14 months is more open to anyone willing to play with her. Of course she usually sleeps with us. She does it so quietly that we usually don't hear or feel her and then if we look she is curled up at the foot of the bed. Which we find funny because she is not quiet at all LOL

My last cat would always let me know when my piece was ‘lesson ready’. When I was just grinding away at the tedious parts of practice, he showed no interest.. but when the music got to the play-through/polishing stage, he would jump on his piano stool, shut his eyes and move his lips while I played. As much as I love my dog, she has never been interested in music.

Cats are, indeed, a special gift.

I have a cat that used to jump up on the top of the piano which was covered with a quilt and look like he was sleeping . He especially seemed to like Chopin. When I would stop playing, he would open his eyes and look at me until I started playing again. Yes this would be when a piece was learned fairly well . The other cats just ignored it. He is still with me but very old and deaf now. Sometimes he would just sit on the bench next to me when I practiced. He also had a stroke last year so he cannot jump like he used to.
