It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
PL, Dogperson and Sam - Thanks for commenting. I'm so fortunate to have found this piano. Technically I am the first owner of record, but the piano had a checkered history for two-and-a-half years before I bought it. Long story with a happy ending.

Checkered history? There's some gangster film where the bad guy kills a rival by smashing the lid down on his head, but I'm guessing that wasn't your piano.
An update of my music room at Piano World headquarters (Cornish, Maine)
The directional signs you may see in the pictures are because my music shop is also part of my house. The acoustic piano is my Estonia L-190. The laptop to the left as well as the PA head and speakers are there because I installed a MIDI controller in my piano.
My Keyboards: Estonia L-190, Roland RD88, Yamaha P-80, Bilhorn Telescope Organ c 1880, Antique Pump Organ, 1850 concertina, 3 other digital pianos ------------------------- My original piece on BandCamp: https://frankbaxtermrpianoworld.bandcamp.com/releases
Me banging out some tunes in the Estonia piano booth at the NAMM show...

BTW, Outside of my music room there are additional keyboard instruments lurking in other rooms...
Old Upright in the Barn (it still works, kinda) ...
Kit Clavichord in the Barn...
Kit Harpsichord in the "sun room"...
Preacher's Organ in the "sun room" ...
Concertina (1850) in the "sun room"
Old Eminee Reed Organ in the "sun room"
Hammond D in the barn (Hammond D (think B3 in a cabinet except this has a full 32 note bass pedal range. also have a huge Leslie Speaker out there). Works great but I have to get the kit to attach the Leslie. Then I will probably sell the package.)
Yamaha Digital in my Living Room (waiting for me to fix two keys)...
Pump Organ in my barn...
Pump Organ in my Music Shop (used for display, it still works)...

@frank I’ve never seen a Preacher’s Organ’. It’s adorable Is it playable?
Yes, although I need to replace one of the pedal straps. But it works. I'll make a recording after I fix the pedal strap (trying to pump with one foot is exhausting).

Here's my room with a piano in it (rather than dedicated piano room )
Don't pay attention to the cardboard & cloth protecting my baby from the sun , but if you look closely on the second picture, you can see my PC with this very thread
I think one thing that this thread proves is that, if you want to play piano and make music, you will find a way. Doesn't matter if you have a dedicated music room, or a vintage house full of instruments, or a digital wedged into a busy home, you are making music.

Yes!!!! I love this sentiment!
I have often said "the very best piano is the one you have in your house." Why? Because that's the one that you can actually sit down in front of and play. All the rest is icing (on the cake).
We all can imagine some piano better than the one we have or a piano room better than the one we have, but as long as we can keep playing, the rest of it is not such a big deal.
Started piano June 1999. Proud owner of a Yamaha C2

I agree with both of you. While I encourage parents to get the best piano/keyboard they can afford for their children (to keep them from being discouraged by a difficult to play instrument) the truth is I grew up playing a broken down old upright when I was a kid. My father and my sister played that same tired old piano. I once got in trouble for taking it apart, good thing I figured out how to put it back together.
Eventually my father bought me a Hammond CV, I started a band, went to work in a music store, and ... well it's a long story.

I just finished doing something I had been meaning to do for a while: print some of the famous quotes from the grand masters, frame them, and hang them on a wall near my piano. Everyone's piano journey is different, but one thing we all need (I think) is inspiration and motivation. That's what I attempted to do for myself with this installation.
I picked 10 individuals (J. S. Bach sitting at the highest position :-), and 1 or 2 quotes from each. Found some old IKEA frames that had been sitting around unused and put this together:
If anyone likes this idea and wants to print these at home, the PDF can be downloaded from the link below. They fit a 5x7-inch photo hole (the drawn rectangles are 4.5 by 6.5 inches):
