If the room actually is 10 foot wide, a 6 foot piano will not give much room for the bench without both being jammed in to the space.

Good question. I make sure to give AT LEAST three full feet from the front edge of the keyboard to the FRONT of the bench. This accounts for tall people like me (6'4") to sit down and play, as well as techs to pull out the action, etc.

I have shown up for home concerts where there was barely enough room for the bench placed for shorter owners, but then I show up and it's like the piano is sitting in my lap and it can't be moved.

That would suggest that 6' is too big for that wall. Either use the other wall (or allow for an angled positioning), or go lower in size. If nothing else, you probably don't want to have the nose of the piano right up against its own wall.

What does the 100 DROP signify on the floor plan? Is that a 100cm Door Opening?

I don't know if my experience will help you. I was planning various rooms here in Bulgaria whilst I was still in China. I new the dimensions of various items of furniture and, of course, the pianos. I multiplied each dimension in metres by 2 and used that number in cm to cut out shapes in some plastic sheet that I had. I drew out the shapes of the rooms in the same way and could arrange the furniture on what were 1 to 50 models. So my 2m piano in the 6m x 4.4m music room became a 4cm model in a 12cm x 8.8 cm room. 1 to 50 is useful and the method is so simple

I've seen a model life size, made with packing boxes and foam poster board. It really gives a good idea of the size requirements and is adjustable just by sliding the pieces around. It can really show how something will fit in a space. Very inexpensive to construct as well.

Hi, yes. But that is old design, we had some basic renovation, in fact, only 80cm door now.

Dear all, apologise for the messy room. In which order would be suggest me to place the grand piano?
The floor template size i used is 6 Foot 2. (just to have allowance as most likely im getting 5 foot 11 grand). Im replacing my couch.

Ah, Singapore! One of my favourite places in the world.
