He asked me what Chinese tuning hammer he should buy on Amazon. I explained that it would be better him that has used old hammer, but it is obliged to be reliable. I have been in email correspondence with young Mr Yegor.

Having watched videos about using CA glue as a wood finish, I decided to try it on the handle of the lever I'm sending to Yegor. The varish or lacquer that was on the handle was brittleand crumbling and would have cut hands to shreds. So I sanded back to bare wood and tried the CA.

It would have been possible to achieve a much smoother finish than shown here, but this was done in a day and is quite respectable. The white lines are just the reflection of the fluorescent tube.

Yegor wrote to me that when he needed to fix some sounds (pins) on the school piano (tuning it's), he used a car lever. He dipped cloth into the head socket of a lever so as not to damage the edges of the pins here.
Your lever in the photo is admirable. It's great! "Royal Lever" now.

Well, they are all tools that were 'spares' picked up in various ebay and other sales. I enjoyed polishing them up a bit, to improve the look (I recently bought a set of buffing wheels and polishes for use on a converted bench grinder).

I tried to include materials that would be useful for common repairs such as I've encountered myself. Should also have included some bridle tapes and bridle tape ends, I guess.

I particularly enjoyed the result of sanding and re-finishing the wood handle of the Fletcher & Newman tuning lever. I should have taken a "before" photo. The finish on it (varnish or polyester, I don't know) was so cracked and crumbled that it would have ripped the palm of the user to shreds. This was my first time trying CA as a wood finish, and I am delighted with its ease of use and rapidity.

The Fletcher & Newman tuning lever was a popular model in the UK. A gooseneck lever, but of good quality, and many tuners spent their whole career using one of those.

I am not a penniless student, but I want one of those care kits !!
