Posted elsewhere but it was suggested that I post here too.

This was THE piece that made me love the piano (40 years ago) after years of making no progress and hating it.

I have played it here from memory but would love to get the score again.

I thought it was Beethoven but my memory could be playing tricks...

Hopefully someone will recognise it! - Thankyou - see link below

It sounds like a Victorian salon piece, especially the latter part, but I know nothing about Victoria, except that she & Albert befriended Felix (amongst others), confused Fanny's music with Felix's, and she then had a long mope after Albert died.

Your piece somehow reminded me of this masterpiece:

I can't identify it but the playing, (touch, tone, dynamics, etc.) is quite beautiful. Is it you?

Best regards,

Alas yes...! I actually didn't pay too much attention, I just played quickly in order to post it.

That's beautiful!

Even if not Beethoven my piece is definitely by a well known composer.

There was one place toward the end of the intro where I thought it might have shifted for a measure or so, then back.

Would it suffice to have someone transcribe the piece from your performance, or do you think there are some details missing that would only come from a look at the original score?

Good thoughts.
I'll see if I can hook up my digital piano to the computer and create the score that way.

Since we know it's Eb and 3/4 then is there a database that can be searched somewhere that can filter down on Key and Time Signatures? Even if I ended up with 200 scores to look at it wouldn't take that long!

Tip: when you play the piece into your engraving software (Finale? Sibelius? Dorico?), you don't have to play it as quickly as you would ordinarily, but you DO have to play it as rhythmically accurately as is non-humanly possible. The more evenly and precisely you play, the less re-work you'll have to clean up what the program transcribes automatically for you. There are also options in the above mentioned programs that can help smooth out the rhythms - sorry I don't have specifics for you, but they DO exist.

Good luck with your project. It should be interesting and fun.
