Nice sound, and very well performed pieces.

Thank you.

1 Indian Serenade <Recording> (by Martha Mier)
2 The Hobbit - Theme from the movie <Recording> (by Howard Shore)
3 Everglades <Recording> (by Martha Mier)
4 Bei Mir Bistu Shein <Recording> (by Sholom Secunda)
5 Treasures from the Sea <Recording> (by Martha Mier)
6 To a Wild Rose (Opus 51, No. 1) <Recording> (by Edward MacDowell)
7 Genesis <Recording> (by Martha Mier)
8 Erinnerung (Album for the Young, No. 28) <Recording> (by Robert Schumann)
9 Kleiner Ländler (Little Dance) - Duet <Recording> (by Anne Terzibaschitsch)
10 Marche funèbre del Signor Maestro Contrapunto <Recording> (by Wolfang Amadeus Mozart)

And again, two pieces at once from me.

#9 is a bit of a cheat, I must admit. It's a duet I played with my 8 y/o son Tim, who's a beginner, so that piece (the accompaniment part) wasn't really a stretch for me. But I'm counting it anyway. cool

#10 is a tongue in cheek little funeral march by Mozart, which is really a lot of fun to play - contrary to the subject matter. smile

My #11 is a cool little Jazz piece by Martha Mier - you could even say an extraordinaire little Jazz piece... wink

The second video below isn't one of my entries for this challenge, but it's a recording made by my 9 y/o son Tim. I'm sure he would be thrilled to get some YouTube views from you, so I've included it here to give him some "exposure". cool

Is Tim improvising?? I wish I could play like that.
I'm starting with Martha Mier. I'm recording in a couple of days the three pieces from book 1 - far away from you both - I need to finish up this year's challenge

No, that's a piece from a book that his piano teacher gave him. But I'll make sure to tell him that you liked his playing. smile

I hope this thread has a twin come to life in 2021. I think that a challenge like this is the only way I will be able to concentrate on 1 or 2 pieces to play well, instead of just dabbling in a number of non-associated scores.

Nope, no issues with it at all.
Took lessons from 1960 to 1969, stopped at age 16.
Started again in July 2020 at age 67. Lots more fun now!

Two more Martha Mier pieces as my #12 and #13. Both Eastern European inspired, and I like to play them as a set, like two short movements of a larger piece.

Final list for 2020

1 Indian Serenade <Recording> (by Martha Mier)
2 The Hobbit - Theme from the movie <Recording> (by Howard Shore)
3 Everglades <Recording> (by Martha Mier)
4 Bei Mir Bistu Shein <Recording> (by Sholom Secunda)

6 To a Wild Rose (Opus 51, No. 1) <Recording> (by Edward MacDowell)
7 Genesis <Recording> (by Martha Mier)

9 Kleiner Ländler (Little Dance) - Duet <Recording> (by Anne Terzibaschitsch)
10 Marche funèbre del Signor Maestro Contrapunto <Recording> (by Wolfang Amadeus Mozart)
11 Jazz Extraordinaire <Recording> (by Martha Mier)
12 Tales from Hungary <Recording> (by Martha Mier)
13 A Russian Legend <Recording> (by Martha Mier)
14 Prélude (Opus 28, No. 4) <Recording> (by Frédéric Chopin)
15 Pastels (by Martha Mier)
16 Knecht Rupprecht (Album für die Jugend, Opus 68, No. 12) (by Robert Schumann)
17 Phantasie über "Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht" (Phantasy on "Silent Night") (by Paul Zilcher)

My #14 is my last recording for 2020. One of Chopin's very well known preludes - and somehow a fitting end for this rather subdued year, I think.

This, plus three more pieces that I worked on but didn't manage to record (the one or the other of these may make a fresh appearance on next year's list) brings up my total for 2020 to 17. Unfortunately 3 pieces shy of the goal of 20 that I had set for myself. Ah well, maybe next year...
