The bigger end goes to the piano, the other one can be plugged into the reduction which will split it into another two, and these will be then plugged into the audio interface. So the cable with green/pink ends should work...? Forget the green/pink splitter and buy the one proposed buy clothearedinpiano. You need one end with two RCA and one end which is stereo jack.

Adapters from female stereo 3.5" socket to 2 x RCA male plugs do exist however and that would convert your existing cable into something useful for the Behringer: Oh, good catch. Interesting if OP already has a long cable, indeed.

Edit: they put in the small-font fine print down the bottom of the page:
'NOTE
• Not all models are equipped for recording audio data via USB cables. For specific information, refer to the end of this manual, or the Owner’s Manual supplied with your instrument.'
That's a bit nasty of them, they hide the actual fact that it doesn't support USB Audio on the very last page! Perhaps they should have put the restrictions in normal size characters since it is and important one. But the information is not so hidden since the manual do invite you to read the last page. You was bewared.

I just bought the $200 on the Motu 4 and which is brilliant. It has level meters which are really handy, and great pre-amps.

This guy also has the P-45 and he can record an unbelievably clean sound. mareg: unfortunately my piano doesnt have that Do you have som different type of P-45? Because according to documentaion the P-45 has a USB-to-Host port. That only sends USB MIDI - not USB Audio. I.e. USB MIDI only sends codes representing the notes and velocities - it doesn't send any sound (audio). There is no USB Audio output because the P-45 is an older instrument. USB Audio is a main feature of the P-125 / P-121, and every other Yamaha model since 2018.

Just wait a few weeks until Black Friday and then see if there is a VST worth picking up. That will save a lot of hassle of trying to setup the audio connection properly.

Yes, with the Black Friday, we have typically an half price for Native Instruments virtual piano... it can be very tempting.

I wouldn't suggest anything shorter than 6 feet unless you're 100% sure about your setup. Also, the less connectors, the more secure your set up will be. This audio interface is cheap, so it probably doesn't have a decent latency. For 20 euros it's a good solution to record things on a PC. Some tweaked ASIO4ALL to reduce the latency down to 27ms... it is quite important, then the virtual piano idea is perhaps not so relevant.

Latency has not been an issue at all for the UAC-222. The OP wanted to keep this very very simple and he has already ordered the UAC-222 so maybe we can save VSTs and other interfaces for when he asks

Update: I came back from the store a few minutes ago, plugged the piano in the Behringer, launched audacity, tried to play something and....it worked!!! And I have to say it works really well, I did not expect that. Everything is clear, everything works smoothly as it should.
I´d like to thank all of you for helping me solve this issue that was driving me crazy! I hope other people who encountered a similar problem will find this thread.
