Nice playing! Good timing!

The low bass and tenor sounded good. Some of the upper treble notes sound like they could use a bit more work, perhaps. They sounded a bit twangy, rattly and buzzy at times. But my hearing is not the best. smile

It could be, but please also consider that it has been recorded by an iphone put on a block of papers...
-it could also be some noise produced by paper vibrations or phone cover vibrations, in effect put on different places it produces different noise on different notes
-high frequencies are more difficult to record

Hi Zonzi,

I assume that it was you who was playing the Petrof. Your playing was excellent! As for the piano, my comments were not meant to be a criticism, but an honest opinion. Overall, the piano sounded nice, particularly the low bass and tenor sections.

It has been my experience that an ever-so-slightly out of tune unison can cause what sounds like a twangy, bussy, rattly, sizzly overtone, even on the best of pianos. So, it could be that the piano was not perfectly in tune on some treble notes.

Also, and this is just my opinion as well, on some pianos, depending on the piano, the environmental conditions, and the tuning stability skills of the tuner, and the stability of the piano itself, a unison can slip within minutes or hours after a fresh tuning. This is why pianos in recording studios are tuned before each recording session, usually; and, why concert pianos are tuned before each concert performance, usually.

But as you say, it could have been the recording process. I meant no harm, and was just expressing my opinion of what I heard in the YT video recording. I think Max has been working on that piano for you, and Max is a fine technician! smile

Best regards,

Rick

HI Rick,

I am very happy that you have enjoyed and thank you very much for a so detailed advice
I just mean I agree with you, I haven't spent too much time to turn the upper part, so it is expected. This is also the reason for this piece: very few upper notes grin

it sounds unusual. Your Petrof is beautiful with it's deep soulful sound, especial tenor region, I think. To my ear taste it is like performing like in the time of Bach. You managed to play this amazingly and to show palitre of beaty there.
Thanks, zonzi
I got great aesthetic pleasure from these Petof's sounds.
Regards, Max

Thank you Max, It is still far from the perfection. I didn't touch any keyboard in the last 7 years and I have only few time to play. I can feel sometimes the fingers are out of control by the brain. This one will be improved.
