Hello again,

I am showing you my new easy / intermediate piano arrangement of the Pink Floyd song Wish You Were Here, as promised.

It took me a little longer then I planned, because I noticed so many imperfections in my last video that I wanted to do it a little better. If you listen very carefully you will hear a metronome in the background. The song is quite slow and I was unconsciously speeding it up all the time.

The original song thrives for a big part on the tone and the playing of the guitar, and on the singing voice, so it is a litlle risky to play it on a solo piano. But I think the melody and the chords in itself are very nice and it constitutes a nice little piano piece imho.

If you want to play for yourself, you can upload the score here:

If you haven't seen the other video (Perfect Day cover Lou Reed) and you are curious, you can have a look here: http://forum.pianoworld.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/2962844/perfect-day.html#Post2962844

Thanks everybody, have fun and stay safe. I am going out now for a bicycle tour, we're still allowed to do that ;-)

I play this song on guitar. Such a beautiful song! I know what you mean about athe tempo - you need to be really patient with Pink Floyd songs - they are often slow and full of feeling. No rushing! You did a nice job with it.

When I saw the title of this thread, I was thinking of this:

I use to play this on guitar long time ago, too. The few solo piano versions I heard ... well, they all sucked. 😀 This is awesome. And thanks so much for posting the score. Just getting back into playing after a long “sabbatical,” so this is definitely something that will help motivate me. Thanks again, odd

I know I already replied once remarking how beautiful that was.

I popped into this thread again to have a listen. Such beautiful playing. I think I might add this to my MP3 player if you don't mind.

Do you know any other music from Pink Floyd? One of my favorite pieces is "The Great Gig in the Sky." I hope to be able to play this some day.

Sorry, no, i don't play any other songs from Pink Floyd. I actually started out playing this song on the guitar, but i found it impossible to play like David Gilmour. Even the most simple phrases he plays with such perfection and beauty, i don't come close. I am not a serious guitar player anyway.

I'll have a listen at Great Gig in the Sky.

Next one on my list is My Baby Just Cares For Me as performed by Nina Simone. I got the piano solo allright, working on the verses now.
