Of course they do. Most people 'love' the piano they have, which is why they have chosen them. But I have still to be convinced by either the Kawai quality control or the software. Once bitten, twice shy though I live in hope as we all have to do in the current circumstances.

My teacher ( who is very picky about Pianos and owns a Steinway Model B grand and normally condemns digital pianos in general) was also very positively surprised (virtual lesson via facetime due to corona) of the sound quality of my CS11. She has a lot of facetime lessons now with people being at home and said my CS11 sounded better than most of the acoustic pianos of the other facetime pupils.

I bought an beautiful Kawai acoustic grand (GX2) two years ago in our house for the weekends (During the week i stay in another city) and she (my teacher) still does not believe that this GX2 also can sound beautiful (because its not a steinway :-) ). I think we have to have virtual sessions with the gx2 during weekend next time too.

Daniel

Since updating the touch panel and main firmware on my CA79 when I go to speaker/headphone settings it’s blank. Why would this be?

That sounds to me as a screen that isn't initialised correctly. The stored configuration of a previous firmware version might be not properly readable by the current version. If I were you I would try a factory reset which can be found under "User Data".

May I ask you to confirm the software versions running on your CA79, please?
This can be accessed via the top-right menu --> System --> Information (CHECK)

Hi Folks,

anybody found a solurion for the missing swipe functionality on new IPad Pro 12.9"?

Restart did nit help. Sometimes when I try swiping the pianos on the piano page very fast and often it works onky 1/2 - image of piano is only 50% visible??!.

Thx

The app on my 2020 iPad 12.9 is broken too. You have to wonder if anyone tested it on an actual device before shipping, the swiping thing is such an obvious problem. The images of the instruments aren’t even properly cut out.....

My colleagues checked both a CA99 and CA79 running the same software versions, but were unable to reproduce this issue. On both instruments, the Speaker/Headphones menu appears correctly.

I will send you a PM with more questions/suggestions.

In the meantime, may I ask other CA79/CA99 owners if they are experiencing the same empty menu issue on their instrument running the same software.

Kind regards,
James

Thank you for your reports.

I will re-post these in the PianoRemote thread shortly in order to keep this thread on topic.

Hello! I’m new to this forum and I purchased a Ca99 SW a few weeks ago.

However I’m not able to update the Firmware! It only tells “File not found”

BTW update of UI and Touch Panel was completely straightforward so now I’m running UI 1.0.6 Touch panel System 3.3.21 and Firmware V1.05.

Anyone got clues about what to do?

Please try reformatting the USB memory device in a Windows PC (FAT/FAT32 filesystem), or try a different USB memory device.

I was caught out doing my update as I didn't read the instructions about the the display and firmware update using two different USB ports.

I assume you've got the USB device in the right port?

Yes I put the USB into the ”USB to Device” port, thanks anyway for the suggestion. I’ll try another new USB memory stick

I had the same issue. Only my oldest 256 MB (!) USB stick worked. All others showed the same issue. Keep trying, eventually it will work...

Hello everyone!

My CA99 is stuck on 1.04 and I cannot do the update, I got the "file not found" error message, two different usb keys tested, both formatted on FAT32, both connected to the USB to DEVICE port. The UI update worked flawlessely

Thank you James! Using a Windows laptop and a brand new USB 3.0 Flash Drive did the trick 👍🏻
